‘Function Follows Form’ is the combination of 3 concepts: Postmodernism, 60’s Culture, and Sustainability. Dissymmetric, mini, and recycling are key elements to design ‘Function Follows Form’ garments. Change new form of garment to use recycing materials, and the dissymmetric form of detail, shape, and line is added to mini concept.
The Sixties
The SIXTIES were an exciting, revolutionary, turbulent time of great social and technological change: Assassination, unforgettable fashion, new musical styles, Camelot, civil rights, gay and women’s liberation, a controversial and devisive war in Vietnam, the first manned landing on the moon, peace marches, World’s Fairs, flower power, great TV and film and sexual freedom.
Postmordernism
postmodernism was a movement in architecture that rejected the modernist, avant garde and passion for the new. PostModernism is understood in art and architecture as the project of rejecting tradition in favour of going “where no man has gone before” or better: to create forms for no other purpose than novelty
Sustainability
The use of ecosystems and their resources in a manner that satisfies current needs without compromising the needs or options of future generations. A goal is that aims towards preserving quality interactions with the local environment, economy and social system.
